The Catalunya MotoGP has proven to be one of the most enduring and popular of our
trips. This tour is a real Spanish holiday so you can top off your visit to one
of the best GPs around with some relaxation at our brilliant spanish coastal hotel.
The trip uses a good mix of A/B roads with some motorway where necessary to get us
distance. We journey from Calais across Normandy where we make our first base – on
the Thursday, we travel across Chateau country to our second night in the Lot Valley,
taking in some of the best biking roads in Europe. The hotel on the second night
has a good restaurant and a cool swimming pool. On Friday, we travel across the Pyrenees
via the Col de Puymorens and Puigcerda and onward. The journey takes us on mile after
mile of glorious twisty and sweepy mountain passes to our air conditioned Spanish
Resort Hotel. The return trip, depending on your choice of length of stay in Spain
is usually unguided as it takes in the same route & hotels and some like to visit
the awesome Millau bridge on their way back.
All hotels en-route are 3/4 star quality with safe off-road parking, and our hotel
in Spain has an underground garage and outdoor swimming pools and sunbathing areas.
About 950 miles in total, dependent on route, this is a fabulous, laid-back trip
with usually excellent weather, fine roads, good company and great food - prices
include evening meal at our hotel in Spain. As in previous years we are giving you
the option of either 3 or 6 nights in Spain as many of our regulars like to make
this their main summer holiday at this superb resort.
This trip has dramatic, rugged scenery combined with great roads - you get about
as much fun as can be had legally whilst still wearing clothes and you also get to
see one of the most atmospheric GP races on the calendar - if you've never been to
a Spanish GP before, this will be a truly memorable trip for you as the Catalan and
Northern Spanish are absolutely crazy about motorbikes and their national racers.
