The action at Le Mans is always exciting -
The Le Mans GP is a lovely start to the year with a nice easy 280 mile ride that leaves Calais Friday morning with plenty of fuel/rest stops. You will need some euros for a couple of Tolls and the trip is four days giving you ample opportunity to take in both practice and race days.
Our Hotel for the 3 nights is near the centre of Le Mans and close to all the evening
action and local restaurants and bars -
There is plenty to see in the town in the evening with many bars and restaurants and the hotel has a good quality reasonably priced extensive menu if you're too worn out by all the excitement to wander..
In the past we have found it far more enjoyable (and usually quicker to walk to the circuit rather than queue in traffic! Chris, who leads this tour will be walking to the circuit on both days and will be glad to show you the best vantage points and places to eat!.
Tickets are usually easily available on the day and seats have never been numbered in the past so the earlier you get there, the better the view!
We have always found the bends fill up really early on race day, but surprisingly enough the main stand on the start/finish straight is usually the last to fill up, and a good place to stand is opposite the large screen so you can see all the action around the circuit.
The French love their racing and there is a great atmosphere at the circuit . As you would expect, the food and beer at and around Le Mans is excellent and worth the journey alone if, like me, you love your food
There's no better way to start the year, so saddle up and come on down... I love it!!!
